You are unique. There is no one in the world exactly like you, or me, or anyone. And yet, underneath all our magnificent differences of personality, appearance, style, creed, culture, talents and skills, work, purpose and more, in the heart and soul of us most of us want these same things: to love and be loved, and to have meaning, purpose and belonging in the world as an expression of who we truly are and what we love.
Everything in life is lived through relationship, starting with how you relate with yourself at all levels of your being and doing. Truing-Up Your Life
Truing-up, as an "ing" verb, is an ongoing, daily and even moment-to-moment choosing to be and express who we truly are. There is no an endgame in which we finally get to hang a certificate of self-realization on the wall and admire it every so often from our lofty perch. That's because life is not about arriving, but journeying. And the journey is about bringing more and more of the eternal totality of who we are into time -- essentially, loving ourselves into more true and expressive being and doing. Because it is love that grows the truth of our unique isness, our personal "I Am," which is not static but ever-evolving.
Thus, truing-up is about continual self-discovery and cultivating the willingness to live and act in accordance with who we are at heart and soul levels in combination with what is needed and desired by the body-mind aspects of our humanity. It is about giving what we love and value more and more significance in our lives. And it is a choice -- even a spiritual lifeline -- that dangles in every encounter and conversation, every obstacle and opportunity, every dream and hope we have of being more than we sometimes seem to be. And, especially, truing-up is about love's highest aspirations for each of us, because the ultimate goal of true individuation is to offer the fullness of who we are in relationship, collaboration and service to others.
