As an author, speaker, coach, mentor, lyric writer, and writer-designer of word-art works, my professional "tree of life" has had many branches. And like the roots and trunk that support a tree, all my branches have been supported by the powers of words. Whether I'm conjuring them or conversing, words for me have been a vehicle for 'in-spiriting' the love and truth of things and people. As a long-time mentor in one-on-one coaching, a teacher in group settings, a poet and a lyric writer for over 150 recorded songs, I have seen and felt how fully-charged words can open people's hearts and minds, no matter how walled up they might have been!
As a speaker and author of 9+ books and counting, my subjects have spanned diverse topics and styles: an instructional how-to for songwriting and the music business, You Can Write Song Lyrics, (drawing from my 20+ years as a professional lyric writer); The Story of Love & Truth, a poignant and inspiring wisdom tale about what happened to the world when Truth decided to venture out on its own, leaving Love behind; a quirky gift book for love and lovers, A Love Your Heart Can Believe In; and 6 books plus reference tools and accessories dealing with the Angelic Kabbalah and the 72 Angels of the Tree of Life, which include a 5-volume series of Daily Wisdoms entitled Birth Angels Book of Days.
It's not a long distance to go from writing poems and lyrics to spiritual and inspirational books. People who spend a lot of time creating any kind of art sooner or later experience the "inner muse" and the seemingly miraculous ways that a song or book writes itself, or a painting seems to just appear on the canvas. These magical moments of creation take us out of the everyday, into loftier realms of thought and feeling, and inevitably, to questions of soul and Spirit. And so ultimately, words, for me, have been not as much about becoming a writer, per se, but the realization that I could use words as a way to conjure those inner realms -- a way to seek the potentially transformative energies behind and underneath and inside the words. Words perhaps still imbued with the spirit of their original expression as the Logos, the first creator-sounds that jettisoned into the void a whole universe with "Let There Be Light!"
These kinds of love-and-truth words, when you find them, find you back.
