THE ONGOING, by Joni Grâce
Signed by Author, Softcover & Hardcover Fall 2022. This is Canadian poet Joni Grâce’s third work, a collection of poems compiled mostly from her writings over several seasons at a beloved beach house on the shores of Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada, her travels throughout North America, and additional poems that emerged 2020-2022. Her affinity for nature and for curating the “greening” of both soil and soul permeates her writings and captures the mysteries of ebb and flow that interweave human nature and the natural world. Each poem, standing alone or within the continuum of the collection, is a living, breathing microcosm of the ongoing circle-journey from self to other, and the evolution to new selfness, that makes our personal and collective worlds go meaningfully ‘round.

Praise for The Ongoing...
“Joni Grâce beautifully and ‘grace’-fully reminds our hearts and souls of the range and rhythms of the natural world…as well as our own natures. We lay ourselves down in her words, and slowly re-awaken to that profound consonance of the life within and without us. What a joy. What a gift.” ~ Arnie Roman, award-winning songwriter and librettist
"'What can I move toward? What can I leave behind?' In The Ongoing, Joni Grâce takes the reader on a journey of discovery—an encounter with the inner self and the world’s profound beauty—that deepens our sense of mystery and delight.” ~ Barbara Thompson, co-author of The Craving Brain – Science, Spirituality and the Road to Recovery
"...The Ongoing is proof of what Joni Grâce calls ‘greening:’ potential energy nurturing what will soon be an emergence. She uses the plenitude, turbulence and fruit of the natural world to prove the hopeful Truth that...we are all in an ‘extravagant movement towards home.’" ~ Elizabeth A. Wilson, author of The Sovereign Way
“I have always felt that the mark of a true poet is a willingness to go to the depths and heights to seek and find a truth. Joni’s capacity to feel, and to render the seeking and suffering of truth, is matched only by her ability to find its joy, especially through her deep affinity with nature.” ~ Terah Cox, author of The Story of Love & Truth, etc., and editor for Feeling in the Gap, Carried Away and The Ongoing
