Artist Statement…These words are from the lyrics of a song I co-wrote with L.A. writer Lamont Dozier (of Motown fame). In the beginning time of my spiritual “awakening,” the word “paradox” seemed to always appear on my mind-screen, and I would often doodle it absentmindedly. I was shown through years of study, contemplation and prayer that while we humans experience much of life as oppositional, all Divine truths are paradoxical. Meaning that in the greater reality of the eternal, things and beings do not oppose, but rather complete each other. It is through this Divine Paradox which all of life may be fulfilled in Love beyond the dualities of our perceptions, attitudes and challenges. The idea of “footprints on the water” came to me as a symbol of this paradox.
